Round 1 – Skorne
The Praetorian Karax ran forward to screen and the Mortitheurge Willbreaker stepped up to give them Flesh Hardening. Naaresh cast Blur on the Karax and walked up. All other models ran or walked forward.
Round 1 – Menoth
Vindictus cast True Path and moved forward into the forest. The Exemplar Errants cleared out some Karax after moving forward. The Knight Exemplars ran up the board along with the Warjacks.
Round 2 – Skorne
The Karax charged into the Exemplar Errants, managing to take out a couple. The unit attachment also used Iron Zeal. The Willbreaker casts Flesh Hardening on the Karax again, making them extremely annoying with tough and no knockdown due to Iron Zeal.
The Titan Gladiator cast Rush on the Cyclops Savage which charged in to take out some Knights Errant. He unfortunately charged out of Naaresh’s control range and couldn’t be forced for extra attacks. Naaresh stepped up to the flag and cast Lamentation.
Round 2 – Menoth
Vindictus cast True Path and touched the flag. The Karax within 4″ of the flag needed to go so the Knight Exemplar units charged in to clear them out. With the mini-feat up they were so hard to kill that the Sanctifier needed to crush the last Karax contesting the flag.
The Knight Exemplar on the far right ran up to prepare for a charge next turn and contest the zone.
Round 3 – Skorne
Naaresh feated and healed the Savage. The Savage took out some knights. The Titan Cannoneer took out some knights. The Gladiator charged in and took out some knights. The Titan Sentry stepped up and took out some knights. But there are still so many knights left!
Naaresh scores 1 CP on the flag.
Round 3 -Menoth
The Sanctifier converts souls to focus and steps up to the Sentry. Since Naaresh’s feat was in play, nothing much happens. The Knight Exemplar on the far right charge into the Cannoneer and also don’t do much. The Reckoner walked forward and continued doing not much this turn.
Round 4 – Skorne
The Cannoneer turned to take out a majority of the knights around her, and the Savage and Beast Handlers helped to take care of the rest. The Karax got out of the way so the Bronzeback Titan could step in. He unfortunately missed four hits (needing 5 to hit) and was unable to kill the Reckoner.
Round 4 – Menoth
Vindictus handed out most of his Focus to the Warjacks in order to clear the zone and take out the Bronzeback. The Sanctifier converted souls to focus and started wailing on the Bronzeback. The Reckoner helped out as well, getting down to 8 or so health left.
The Knight Exemplar that were on the far left finally charge in and got the first one to sacrifice himself in order to pump up the unit. The second Knight Exemplar to charge the Bronzeback made it, the rest of the unit charges the Karax. The Knight Exemplar leaves the Bronzeback on 2 health, the Agonizer ended up saving the Bronzeback.
Round 5 – Skorne
The Gladiator turned and trampled over Vindictus and several other knights. The Cannoneer then shot at Vindictus, dealing a large amount of damage. The Sentry stepped up and finished Vindictus off.
I forgot to feat with Vindictus, but I don’t think it would have changed a ton. The best place to do it would have been when the Cannoneer had shot at the Knight Exemplar and opened a path to get the Gladiator next to the flag.
Flesh Hardening + Iron Zeal is golden if the tough rolls go in your favor. I’m learning that boosting to hit is important sometimes, even if you just need a 5.
