We played a 35 point game. We placed a zone in the middle to control or dominate for 1 point.
The forward Juggernaut gets Advanced Move because of theme.
Round 1 – Khador
The Warjacks run forward. Sorscha casts Iron Flesh on the Winter Guard and does Desperate Pace on them as well. The Winter Guard walk forward with the extra movement. Jozef Grigorovich uses the Courage of our Forefathers battle plan.
Round 1 – Retribution
Helynna casts Rhythm of War and the army runs forward, making sure the Sentinels are base to base for the ARM bonus.
Round 2 – Khador
Sorscha puts Iron Flesh and Desperate Pace on the Winter Guard. They move forward behind the wall. Jozef Grigorovich uses the Courage of Our Forefathers Battle Plan. The Warjacks run forward. The Widowmaker Marksman shoots a Sentinel and advances 2″ backward.
Round 2 – Retribution
The Dawnguard Sentinels use Vengeance to move 3″ forward. They charge the leading Warjacks, dealing about half damage to the Juggernaut. The battlegroup advances forward.
Round 3 – Khador
The Juggernauts clear out the Sentinels around them. The Devastator (proxy base because they couldn’t fit that close) uses Rain of Death to destroy the Sentinels around it. The Winter Guard Infantry jam up the Phoenix.
Round 3 – Retribution
The Griffon and Dawnguard Sentinels take out the Juggernaut. The Phoenix clears the area around it with Combustion.
Round 4 – Khador
Sorscha gets brave and clears out the two threatening Dawnguard Sentinels. The Devastator and Juggernaut attempt and fail to take out the Griffon. They are both hurting and have a lost movment or right arm respectively. The Rocketeers move out in an attempt to get a target at Helynna next turn.
Round 4 – Retribution
The Arcanist Mechanik Empowers the Phoenix. The Phoenix then moves over and continues wailing on the Devastator, catching it on fire.
Round 5 – Khador
Sorscha hands out Focus to destroy the Phoenix and Griffon. The Devastator and Juggernaut successfully do so. The Winter Guard form a line in front of the Warjacks to prevent a charge.
Round 5 – Retribution
Helynna and the Manticore pull back, accidentally stepping out of the zone. Khador scores a point. (1-0)
Round 6 – Khador
The Winter Guard clear out. Sorscha casts Boundless Charge on the Juggernaut and loads it with Focus. The Juggernaut charges in and sadly does not kill the Manticore. Khador scores another point. (2-0)
There is also a lot of time wasted trying to get a rocket into Helynna.
Round 6 – Retribution
Helynna and the Manticore kill the Juggernaut, but do not move back into the zone. Khador scores a point. (3-0)
Round 7 – Khador
Sorscha casts Boundless Charge on the Devastator. The Devastator moves forward preparing for an assault next turn. Khador scores a point. (4-0)
Round 7 – Retribution
Helynna and the Manticore kill the Devastator and move into the zone preventing Khador from winning.
Round 8 – Khador
The Winter Guard line up to prevent a charge at Sorscha. Sorscha prepares to assassinate Helynna next turn. This is a quick turn as time is of the essence.
Round 8 – Retribution
Helynna and the Manticore take out two of the Winter Guard.
Round 9 – Khador
The Winter Guard clear out of Sorscha’s way. She charges Helynna and runs out of time in the assassination.
There were several precious minutes lost toying with the Rocketeers, they should have been ignored. We also rolled the next few rolls for Sorscha for fun and she would have taken down Helynna. Shame on you Rocketeers.
